9 months [give or take a week] old...

Internet, who would have thought I would make it to 9 months old [what with a Mommy who can't even manage to write simple blog entries in a timely manner...], but, here I am. 9 months into life, and lovin' every minute of it. Believe it or not, I have actually progressed by leaps and bounds since my 8 month blog entry... and HERE is HOW:

LOOK OUT - I'M MOBILE!
Thursday, January 28 marks the day that changed everything in my baby life forever. I not only learned how to sit up from a laying position [FINALLY], I also very quickly learned how to maneuver myself around. I get into a push up stance, almost as though I am going to crawl, but instead of crawling I do a weird sort of break dance move, which spins me [right 'round, baby, right 'round]. When this move is done multiple times in succession, I can make it completely across the room. Mom and Dad seemed pleased with this [because it takes me a super long time to get anywhere], but Brody is a basketcase because of it.

I CAN SUCCESSFULLY HAND-FEED MYSELF
With 95% accuracy! I even have a technique... I grab a delicious food morsel with one hand, then use my other hand to steady the food-bearing hand by holding onto my wrist. Yeah, I'm advanced like that.

SPEAKING OF FOOD - WHEN DO WE EAT?
I love food. ALL food. As in... if Mom is holding me and she opens the refrigerator, I get SUPER excited. I also pay close attention to people when they enter the room with a plate. Really? I'm a baby... you're not even gonna offer to share? Let me breakdance over there and pull on your plate, then.

MY MATTRESS IS LOWER
As soon as I learned the sitting up from laying trick, Mom & dad dropped my mattress a couple rungs. Now, its more like I sleep in a cage. Cool.

I PARTY ALL NIGHT
Who wants to lay down and be asleep in their crib, when they can sit up and yell all night long? I mean, really... as soon as I learned the whole sitting up thing, my sleep schedule went down the drain. Sorry Mom & Dad, no more 8 hour nights of solid sleep for you... but it was fun while it lasted!

BABY CLOTHES DON'T FIT ME
Although I am NOT a big baby, I am already wearing 12-18 month clothing. Sometimes I can hear Mommy crying as she clears the clothes that are too small out of my dresser... sappy Mom, seriously.

I'M STARTING TO MAKE FACES [on purpose!]
One in particular... maybe I just learned how to use the muscles that control my nose, because I scrunch it and wiggle it all the time. When I smile & laugh, my nose scrunches up.. when I look surprised, I also look like I might sneeze. Nose, crinkled. Mom has yet to truly capture this in a photo, but it looks something like this:

CURRENT FAVORITES:
Toy: Mom & Dad just opened a sports toy I got from my GUE for Christmas. It has basketball, baseball and football.... and when you make a basket a bunch of people cheer for you. I love it.
Food: ANYTHING and EVERYTHING
Activities: Sitting up in my crib at 3am, breakdancing to get my hands on the dog toys [or the dog tails]

I have my 9 month appointment on Friday - stay tuned for my new stats!
